Someone is waiting for you to write your story . . .

Join us for a retreat like none other...

Whether you're dreaming of writing a book, you're an author / podcaster with an endless to do list, or you just enjoy quiet weekends away with time for resting, writing and eating good food...  One thing we can all agree on is that uninterupted time to be inspired, get organized, process, and put pen to paper, is something we ALL need.

As women juggling way too many hats, we rarely set aside the time we need to work on these dreams.  And when we do, it's usually squeezed in between friends, family, appointments, and everything else we are needed for.

We owe it to ourselves, and to those we are called to encourage through our story,  to intentionally carve out time to get this dream on paper.

You wake up in a quiet farmhouse in the middle of the country about 20 minutes from nashville.  You slip downstairs for a cup of coffee and find a quiet space to curl up and just be for a bit. You have time to breathe, to think, to ask the Lord for direction.  The sun is just coming up and starting to stretch across the hardwood floors.  you find A cozy chair by the fire, or a rocking chair on the front porch overlooking the countryside, and you just have space, Finally.

you sit for a few minutes or a few hours and then the others in the house start to wake up.  you hear footsteps of women emerging as well, and the hum of quiet conversations starts to fill the rooms.

You walk into the kitchen to a ridiculously amazing food spread and are greeted by new friends who feel like home.  The women are just different.  even though you just met you feel instantly understood.  They just get you.
the conversation is easy and fills your soul.  it's riddled with thoughtful questions, shared challenges and bursts of laughter.  you've found your people.

the schedule is loose but deeply intentional.  Every detail makes you feel cared for, seen, and like you belong.  the meals are farm fresh & excellent.  prepared by private chefs who are as passionate about food as we are about words.  And it's so good it almost feels like a dream.  plus, you don't have to clean up the mess.  praise jesus.

surprisingly, the speakers aren't just there during sessions.  they don't disappear into a green room, they sit next to you at dinner, and around the fire.  you get to hear their stories.....the unplugged versions......and ask questions and learn from their mistakes.   During the workshops They help you map out your book, refine your branding, and go over your book proposal so you can put your best foot forward and make actual progress on your dreams.

And since this is Your retreat, everything is entirely optional.  if you just need 3 days away to rest and eat amazing food and be pampered, this is for you.

if you have a book on your heart and need personalized help to help you make your next step, this is for you.

we've intentionally planned out 3 pampering days to just bless you.
you have the freedom to customize how your days go.

Time to relate

TIME TO WRITE

Let's face it, we aren't the same women that we were five years ago, or even one year ago for that matter, and that's a good thing.  Our lives have changed, we've grown a lot, and our priorities have shifted. One thing I'm sure we all feel is a deep longing for rest, rejuvenation & blank space.  And that is exactly what we are intentionally creating for you.

We've picked out a beautiful place in the hills of Tennessee for relaxing, resting and soaking in God's creation.   Our schedule is loose, but filled with slow mornings, lingering meal times, optional workshops, and lots of time for laughter, brainstorming, and encouraging one another.  If you're looking for a place to rest, process, be encouraged, and get help for your next steps with like-minded women, this is it.

Time to REST

Join  us  for

There's something indescribably amazing about finding your people.  The ones who get you not because they've studied you, or spent years with you, but because in some way or another, they are you.  They've had the same fears & failures, the same dreams & victories.  Just like you, they know God has put big dreams on their hearts. They know the juggle of keeping a home, and working on a project late at night.  So even if you've never met before, within a few minutes, it feels like you're lifelong friends because you've walked such similar roads.   Over the past 14 years, I've seen thousands of women meet at our events & become lifelong friends, bridesmaids, and even business partners. Helping women find their people is the very heartbeat of why we do what we do.  Are you ready to find your people?  Come join us. We've been waiting for you.

If you're anything like me, life looks completely different than what you thought it would look like by this point in your life.

Whatever your story, one thing is certain, God promises to bring good out of it for those who love Him.  There is so much power in your story.  And if I were a betting girl, I'd go all in on you and your story. I'd bet that there is someone out there right now who is struggling with something you have walked through.  Someone would find so much hope and courage in your story, but it's up to you to write it first.

This retreat is specifically designed to give you the free time and the mental margin to finally get some of your words on paper.  With cozy little spaces to curl up in, and the best catering team ever, we have designed these 3 days to take care of everything, so you can focus on your writing.

Here are some frequent questions

Still have questions?

  • Where will we be staying?

The retreat is being held at a private estate home outside of Nashville in Franklin, Tennessee.

  • What are the rooms like?

The rooms are luxurious and beautiful inside a multi-million dollar estate in the country.   If you choose to stay at the retreat house, your base registration includes a twin bed in a shared room / bathroom.
If you prefer to have a private room and bathroom you'll have the option to upgrade to a different room after registration.  You can also send us a roommate request if you're coming with a friend.

We will send out room upgrade options in the order that you register.  So the sooner you register, the more rooming options you will have.

  • Can we bring nursing babies?

Hey mama!  we are so thankful you asked! Some of our retreats are absolutely open to newborns, but sadly, this one isn't.  Since we are all staying in one giant retreat house, we want to respect the other women who've invested in joining us and give them a quiet place of rest.  As much as we love babies, they aren't exactly quiet, so we ask that you make child care arrangements for your little ones if you'd like to join us.

  • Where should I fly in?

BNA - Nashville is the closest airport.  Franklin is about 30 minutes from the Airport.

  • How will we get to the retreat?
If you live close enough to drive, you're welcome to drive all the way to the retreat house.  There is ample parking available for us there.  If you are flying, BNA Nashville is extremely close (only 25 miles away) so flying there is very convenient.  Either way you will be added to an attendee only instagram chat where you can connect with other attendees to carpool or share a rental vehicle.

  • Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, of course!  I love payment plans myself, so we wanted to offer this as an option for you.  We do have a $200 discount for tickets that are paid in full at registration.

  • I signed up for a retreat once & ended up sharing a bed with a stranger.  Will I have to share a bed with anyone?
Absolutely not. I personally think it's incredibly disrespectful to assign people a shared bed without their knowledge. Base registration includes a shared room but never a shared bed. You can upgrade to a private suite or choose to share a bed with a friend but we would never assign you one without your request. We want to take all anxiety and guesswork away when it comes to your sleeping arrangements, so we are very upfront with everything. When it comes time to select your room/bed arrangements, you'll see photos of each room so you can make the best decision for yourself.

  • I want to upgrade to a Private King but share it with a friend.  How does that work?
This is a common request, so we've simplified the process as much as possible.  Decide which room you and your friend want to upgrade to from the list.  Each Queen and King room will have 2 occupancies available.  When it's time to upgrade, you'll each select the same room and click single occupancy upgrade.  Then you'll each be charged 50% of the upgrade cost.   If you want a King or Queen room by yourself, add both occupancies to your cart and you'll be the only one in the room :)

Testimonies

"I came wanting more clarity and vision for hosting my own faith based photography retreat and I left feeling inspired, with more clarity, God speaking to me confirming my next steps, and met so many wonderful and inspiring woman who love Jesus! I even discovered a new way that God speaks to me-through journaling! I never journal and was amazed how my pen just started flowing with all the things God has to say to me." ~Michelle

"I came to the retreat scared of laying down what was good and comfortable for what I know God has for me. I left with clarity and confirmation, the courage to pull the trigger on moving forward, and practical knowledge of the online industry." ~Leigh Ann

"I was feeling a bit disconnected and unsure of where I wanted to take my business and how to best move forward into the next season of my life. I left the retreat feeling inspired, motivated, encouraged and excited about all the possibilities and opportunities that I currently have and can continue to nurture. Being in a space with other Christian business women feels peaceful and gives me the courage to pursue my God given purpose!" ~Leah

" I had been feeling completely burnt out but was encouraged by being around women who understood how lonely podcasting can be and told that what I’m doing is so important. I really needed to be around people who “got” me. It was like a balm to my soul." ~ Carol

"I came into the retreat during a valley season. 3 weeks prior to the retreat my dad had passed away. We found out in November he had cancer and I feel like it all happened so quick and I blinked and that was it. God had very much strengthened my spirit with a belief in His healing hand. I felt the Holy Spirit many times in that trial and it was incredible and gave me so much boldness and confidence in His promises. So when the outcome was a healing in heaven and not on this earth, along with grieving I was very disheartened. I was confused, felt let down, and just didn’t want to sit with God. I’d try to worship and couldn’t. My prayers weren’t the same. I didn’t even want to read His word. So going into the retreat, I had a feeling this would be when God and I worked out the beef we had. I just didn’t realize it would be on the VERY first night in the first 2 hours. We started to worship and my spirit just wept. Now I always cry during worship but this was different. It was the first time in 3 weeks I had truly sat in His presence and knew He was a good Father who loved me so much. At one point Alison who was leading worship stopped and said she didn’t plan on sharing what she was about to share but felt like the Holy Spirit was moving her to. She shared about her experience of her father’s passing last August. I immediately broke down and felt the heat of the Holy Spirit comforting me in that moment. I knew immediately I was exactly where I was meant to be and healing to my broken heart was going to happen that week. The next morning during my quiet time I sat with God in His word for the first time in 3 weeks and He spoke so clearly to me through it. I’m in awe of God’s goodness and how He meets us with such grace and kindness in the most gentle way. And through the time at the retreat I’m grateful for the woman and friendships made there. When you meet woman who love Jesus I feel like such a special connection is made. It was a beautiful and fun group of woman. I also very much loved the speakers who poured out to us and didn’t hold anything back. I appreciate their vulnerability and answering every question we had! The time at Kara’s retreat was so special and also bonus, the food was really good!! I already know I’ll be back at the next week and can’t wait!!  ~ Keeley

"I was praying and searching for answers on what I’m supposed to do next when I came to the retreat. I left feeling excited because of the clarity I received through prayer, devotion, fellowship, and alone time." ~ Ashley

"I came to the retreat with no expectations. I strictly came with a friend. I left with so much more, new friends. And my relationship with God rekindled. I was able to distinguish what God is calling me to do. The ministry in this group of women was unreal." ~ Kendall
